National Children’s Health Month 2024

In celebration National Children’s Dental Health Month (NCDHM) in February, TxOHC is excited to bring you the available children’s oral health resources below. 

The ASTDD Social Media Work Group has created a folder offering access to 30+ sample messages and 10 different graphics. The sample messages are divided into two target audiences:

  • Health providers and organizational partners
  • Parents and family advocates

The Office of Head Start Early Childhood Learning & Knowledge Center (ECLKC) recently released their January 2024 Resources to Make you Smile, “Preparing for National Children’s Dental Health Month.”  This is a monthly newsletter featuring information and tools to help families promote good oral health.  The resources in this email include resources for Health Start staff and Parents. Find the January issue here.

Past issues of the Resources to Make you Smile series have included “Talking with Children About Dental Visits,” “Healthy Bedtime Routines,” and “Promoting Oral Health for Babies.”  Subscribe to the Oral Health list to receive future monthly Resources to Make You Smile issues.

ECKLC also has other oral health resources including the “Healthy Habits for Happy Smiles,” series of handouts and the “Brush Up on Oral Health” tip sheets that may be found on their website.


The American Dental Association (ADA) also provides resources at ada.org/ncdhm that include:
